What's The Score?

Jerms challenged me to take a typing test, I was dissapointed that I only scored 60 wpm (with 8 mistakes) - which made my adjusted typing speed 52 wpm.

Dirt got 40 wpm. I was hoping to crush him, but instead I just beat him.

What did you get? (on your first try!! - don't practice all day and then give me the results - just give me your first try score! (I'm on to you).

Hmmm, someone has a lot of time on their hands....hee hee!!

I took it, had to take it a second time because my screen jammed up when it was ready to give me my results. I scored 52 WPM, 1 mistake, adjusted to 51 WPM. I guess my score would be a lot higher if I didn't have to look at the keyboard!!! I hated typing class! Hey, check out your previous entry's comments, I need some help finding a hotel room at Martha's Vineyard!

What's normal?

I thought we were suppose to type at 90 wpm, so I think we all might suck. Particuarly you, Shaun.

erin, looks like we're all at the low end of normal (except for your brother, sorry shaun!) check out here.
"An average typist reaches 50 to 70 wpm, while some positions can require 80 to 95 (usually the minimum required for dispatch positions and other typing jobs), and some advanced typists work at speeds above 120."

54 WPM with 4 mistakes (adjusted speed 50 WPM)

I bet my mom would be 90 wpm!

ok, so I cheated and took it another time w/ a different exercise and got 72 WPM with 1 mistake (adjusted speed 71 WPM), so I guess it all depends on the exercise that you type for the test

I am claiming victory!

Mrs. Kuhn is not invited to this post. I need to cut off the comments to this post while I'm still the winner!

(Really, I'm not competitive)

I scored 56 WPM with 3 wrong so 53. I started to think about it towards the end and it messed me up!!

When I went to Katherine Gibbs (a secretarial school in Boston), we used to type for three hours a day. The teachers would come around and make sure our backs were straight and our feet were flat on the floor. Of course, this was the same school where we had to wear a business skirt and attire EVERY DAY! Ugh! I NEVER wear skirts anymore - wonder why??

Anyway, I used to type upwards of 90 WPM.

Is anyone reading this?
